"I'LL JUST SURVIVE THE SWIM."
You said it out loud. Probably with a laugh. You'd never say it about the bike or the run. You're someone who doesn't surrender at anything. Not at work, not three hours into a ride. But you've written off a third of your race because you believe you can't get better at it.
IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT.
"Just swim more" is the worst great advice in triathlon
The advice is right on the facts but useless in practice. And it's repeated so much you believe the problem is you. It's not. The bike starts at your front door. So does the run. Swimming needs the most repetition of the three and it's the only one with opening hours.
CONNECTED SWIM TRAINING GIVES YOU THE REPS TO MAKE YOUR STROKE STICK BETWEEN POOL DAYS.
How ZWIM fits into your week
your stroke finally has a number.
The patent-pending ZWIM Smart Paddles read the force and rhythm of your pull. Cyclists have watts. Runners have pace. Finally swimmers have propulsive watts.
The connection
THE PROS HAVE UNLIMITED POOL TIME. THEY STILL WANT ZWIM.
They train 20 hours a week and they don't let new kit near their programme lightly. When the Bianchi Pro Triathlon Team and their coaches got on a ZWIM for the first time: "Wow, that's cool." "It's not easy." "Suddenly, it's fun. Swimming." They asked to be the first in line to get their own ZWIM Smart Trainer.
Three ways to ZWIM. One reason to come back.
The reason is that you want to. Some days you want to be told exactly what to do. Some days you want a number to chase. There's a session for each day.
Live feedback during the session. Progress that follows.

Our first swim trainer. Same athletes, before and after they had swim-specific training in between pool days.
“My swim always got put last … the bike or run always won.”
Hannes S. · Age-group triathlete“… waiting a week (or more) for my next opportunity, where I would pretty much start all over again.”
Kevin S. · Pool schedule did not fit“… I was just trying not to sink during training.”
Axel V. · New triathlete“My swim has always been my weakest discipline … I’m faster, stronger and more confident than ever before.”
Scott B. · Age-group triathlete“… within 1 month, Zen8 has already made me a stronger swimmer.”
Randy · Competitive swimmer“After 6 weeks, I took 3 mins off my swim time for 750m …”
John W. · Head coach, triathlon clubMY FIRST TRIATHLON STARTED WITH A PANIC ATTACK 200 METRES IN
Three hundred people, elbows everywhere. Two hundred metres in I couldn't breathe, couldn't find a stroke. I got to the end of it and spent the rest of the race wondering if I even belonged there.
I'd gone into that race feeling fit. Years of cycling in my legs, a decent run off the bike, properly fit by any normal measure. I didn't grow up swimming. I learned freestyle because I'd signed up for a triathlon, but I wasn't worried about it. I figured the engine would carry me through the swim.
It doesn't work like that.
So afterwards I did what you do. Went deep on technique. Videos, drills, cues, all of it. And it helped.
But the same thing kept happening. My lungs were fine. My arms were gone. A few minutes in, the technique I'd spent all winter on just left, and my pace went with it. The rest of the swim was getting to the other end.
So I needed two things. Reps, and the endurance to hold the stroke once it started hurting. On a good week I got to the pool twice. “Just swim more” was right. It just was not written for my life.
So we built ZEN8. More than 20,000 people trained with it at home. Those who used it consistently reported feeling stronger, faster and more confident. But too many struggled to keep coming back.
The training worked. Building the habit was still too hard. So my wife and co-founder, Charlotte, and I sold our home, moved country and went all in on solving it.
ZWIM turns home swim training into structured workouts, instant feedback and a game that makes consistency something you want, not something you force.
If you are trying hard but the swim is still the discipline you “just survive,” we built this for you.

No. The pool is where you swim. ZWIM adds purposeful swim-specific work on the days a pool session does not fit, so your water time is part of a week already in motion.
Part of getting better at swimming is repeating the movement, building force through the propulsion phase and learning what effective work feels like. ZWIM lets you train that under controlled resistance, with feedback, without another pool trip.
Three things: the ZWIM Smart Trainer, a compatible phone or tablet that runs on iOS 16 / Android 12, or newer, and the ZWIM Membership. The trainer is the physical system. The membership powers the game, workouts, feedback and history.
